Allianz Center for Technology

Leading research and consulting in safety, damage analysis and loss prevention

The Allianz Center for Technology (Allianz Zentrum für Technik or AZT) is at the forefront of industrial risk management, providing damage analysis and loss prevention services for our global clients, partners and colleagues for more than 85 years.

This is a unique institution in the insurance world. At the heart of our Center is a team of expert engineers who can provide you with technical support in settling industrial claims and help you to mitigate future losses. Today, the center is part of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), providing services to clients from Shanghai to Sao Paulo, and is the industrial 'sister institution' to the world-renowned Allianz Center for Technology (Automotive) in Ismaning, Germany.

At the Allianz Center for Technology, our engineers specialize in investigating damage to industrial equipment and power generation technology, such as boilers, turbines, generators, transformers and drivers. The AZT team works on a wide range of sectors, including conventional and renewable energies, automotive and industrial plants. Much of their work takes place in a laboratory, where they use various test methods such as ultrasonic testing, microstructure analysis and electron microscopy to locate even the smallest source of a loss. They can combine their lab work with on-site inspections and measurements, design reviews and calculations, making sure no stone is left unturned.

The center's work means that we can offer unrivalled damage analysis, grounded in objective technical research. This in turn means we can provide you with market-leading loss prevention solutions to even the most unexpected problems.

We do this by taking our engineers' findings and compiling them into specialist reports. These reports are used by our claims handlers and risk engineers to gain a better understanding of the cause of a loss and the nature of the risk involved. Our core loss prevention services cover:

  • damage analysis and loss prevention
  • improvement of technical and operational safety
  • technical risk analysis
  • cause of fire analysis
  • risk assessments of new technologies
  • Our risk consulting team of experienced engineers provide a wide range of risk consulting services to help your business manage, prevent, and reduce risks, whatever your industry.
