Press Release | March 30, 2016 | Johannesburg

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Africa recently appointed Bridgette Benting as Head of Human Resources (HR). She is taking over from Tezira Kulubya who will be returning to the UK.

Benting will report to AGCS Africa CEO Delphine Maïdou and AGCS Global Head of HR Dot Cownie, who starts on April 1 to lead the global HR team of circa 100 specialists worldwide, with a particular focus on talent development and building leadership capabilities at all levels of the company.

With a B.Comm in HR, Benting has worked in different areas of the insurance industry for over 30 years. She brings a wealth of experience to AGCS Africa in recruitment, performance management, payroll, employee benefits, and group schemes.

Says Maïdou: “I am pleased to have Bridgette Benting on board. Her broad range of HR experience from the industry particularly from global companies will enable us to increase our momentum of becoming a corporate and industrial insurer of choice on the continent.”

Kulubya will stay with the insurer until May this year as part of the handover process. “I would like to sincerely thank Tezira Kulubya for the key role she played within the HR side of the business,” said Maïdou. “When I joined AGCS Africa to position the business for success on the continent, we needed an HR expert who was entrepreneurial and flexible. Tezira fitted to the culture of the business like hand in glove and was able to hire the right people while implementing sound policies and systems that maximized employee performance to achieve our strategic business goals.”
