Airmic Conference 2012

From June 11 to 13, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) attended the 2012 Airmic Annual Conference at the Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) in Liverpool.

Airmic is a member association supporting those responsible for risk management and insurance within their own companies. With more than 1,000 individual members who represent more than 450 companies, Airmic provides research, training, networking, lobbying and market information for members.

As a partner of Airmic, AGCS hosted a workshop and had an exhibition stand. The workshop, hosted by Volker Muench, Head of Underwriting Coordination, was titled Business Interruption, Suppliers and Customer Extension and Non Damage BI- Quo Vadis? The workshop looked at how large losses are increasingly driven by Business Interruption, classical Damage Business Interruption coverage, Suppliers and Customer Extension and to the request of Non-Damage BI coverage. More than 100 risk managers signed up to listen to Volker and had the opportunity to ask questions.

AGCS hosted a reception at the stand at 4 pm on June 12, where guests were joined by British Paralympic wheelchair athlete David Weir. Allianz is vocal in its support of the global Paralympic Movement and is inspired by the extraordinary achievements of the athletes. With the Games close at hand, guests had the opportunity to ask David a range of questions about his and the team’s hopes for the Games and, of course, to wish him the very best of luck.

On the evening of June 12, representatives from AGCS hosted a client dinner at a local restaurant. The evening allowed clients to get closer to their contacts and discuss what they learnt at the conference.
