UK Solicitors' Conference 2011

The 3rd Annual Solicitors’ Conference for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty was held in the British Museum.

On the 6th July 200 leading UK solicitors and their broker partners joined Allianz for a one day conference focusing on challenges that face the legal profession.

The day commenced at 10:30 with Lueder Kaiser, Global Head of Professional Indemnity (PI) at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), welcoming guests and explaining the importance of these conferences as ways to share knowledge. Later in the day David Cable, AGCS UK Head of PI, explained how AGCS had grown in the market since 2009, the impact of the economy on the prices and looked into what the future may hold.

AGCS was joined by guest speakers from across the legal profession:

  • Joe Bryant, Will Sefton and Poppy Robinson from CMS Cameron McKenna LLP with a presentation entitled ‘Somewhere over the rainbow…’ looking at market conditions
  • Niall Innes and Ben Hardiman from Mills & Reeve LLP with a review of the Ombudsman, ‘The Legal Ombudsman: It’s not paranoia if they are out to get you’
  • David Cable and Matthew Lamplugh, AGCS, looking at the market conditions and claims trends with a presentation entitled ‘The ARP and the Market: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’
  • Simon Gibson and Eamon Mooney from Kennedys looking at recent claims against the profession, ‘The pedestrian had no idea which way to run as I ran over him’

The event concluded with a panel discussion with representatives from throughout the day.

The Allianz Solicitors’ Conference is CPD accredited so delegates received 4 hours credit by attending.
