Who are we?

The finance department is a key function and a trusted and reliable business partner within Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.

About 600 employees based in 17 locations around the globe are organized in 6 main functions which are:

  • Accounting
  • Actuarial
  • Corporate Finance & Treasury
  • Finance Solutions
  • Planning & Performance Management
  • Risk Management

Each team requires its own unique skills and experiences as well as background. We are working in a matrix set-up where functional and regional teams need to work closely in order to ensure common approaches to solutions and work streams across functions and regions.

What are we responsible for?

Apart from fulfilling financial reporting requirements to internal as well as external stakeholders such as Allianz Group or regulatory bodies, it is our key responsibility to help business owners to steer their business in the direction of profitability. This is achieved  by providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis as well as in-depth risk based view. We ensure that globally we work with common financial systems and processes that allow us to deliver our services effectively and efficiently.

We actively manage the AGCS Group’s capital ensuring capital adequacy and dividend capacity. In order to protect AGCS’ capital base, we provide an independent oversight on AGCS’ risk profile.

Close collaboration with other departments and an in-depth understanding of the business are essential to deliver a best-in-class finance service. The range of responsibilities, tasks and activities within Finance are manifold and covering everything from accounting, finance operations, liquidity, cash flow, capital management to risk-assessments/governance, actuarial models and analyses.
