AGCS Wins Best Supply Chain Risk Insurance Provider Award

The July/August issue of the monthly corporate finance publication Global Finance features the winners of the World’s Best Supply Chain Finance Providers, and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty has been chosen as the world’s best insurance provider for supply chain risks.

The Global Finance editorial team chose the winners after surveying industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts on who in the industry provides cost savings, working capital benefits and the security and stability of multinational supply chains. With the crisis in Europe continuing and a slow recovery in the US, multinational supply chains are feeling the impact of the global economic slowdown. Businesses are recognizing the importance of ensuring that their supply chain is secure.

Volker Münch, Head of Strategy & Development for Property at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, commented: “We are very proud to have received this award. As AGCS, we have taken the supply chain disruption losses from past years as an opportunity to address the importance of insurance coverage for our clients. Instead of reducing the available capacity, we entered into conversations with our clients to get a better assessment of the accumulation potentials. Based on these conversations, we have developed a Non-Damage Business Interruption solution. At the same time, we agreed upon solutions to maintain the high physical damage triggered CBI limits, which our large clients need and request. However, the feedback from the clients and the additional information about the supply chain enabled us to answer questions from rating agencies and financial authorities about exposure and accumulation potentials. As a partner to our insured clients, we take the award as a motivator for further solution-oriented conversation regarding supply chain coverage.”

Maarten van der Zwaag, Global Head of Property Risk Consulting at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, added: “This award is a recognition that we chose the right path when we increased our focus on supply chain risks as an integral part of our services. Allianz Risk Consultants assist clients by improving their resilience to disruption through the identification of potential exposures within both their internal and external supply chains. We take this award as encouragement to continue our efforts in further developing our services for supply chain risks management to support our customers.”

The Global Finance award comes on the heels of the release of Managing Disruptions, an Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty perspective on supply chain risks (download the report here). Publications such as these, have helped mark Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty as a thought-leader and trusted partner in issues critical for clients.
