2015 is a very important year for Allianz: not only does our company mark its 125 year anniversary, also our Aviation insurance department is celebrating its 100th birthday. In 1915 the underwriting of an airship insurance policy began what is now a 100-year-old relationship between Allianz and the aviation industry.
On the occasion of this anniversary, about 200 clients, brokers and also Aviation employees from 15 different nations met on July 9 in Munich to celebrate this birthday together.
Allianz has been a partner to the aviation industry for much of its history. Since insuring some of the very first aviation risks in 1915 we have evolved into a global aviation insurer with clients ranging from small gliders and balloons to the world’s largest airlines, airports and manufacturers.
The event was therefore a great opportunity for hosts Josef Schweighart, Head of Aviation Central and Eastern Europe, Henning Haagen, Global Head of Aviation, and regional CEO Christopher Lohmann to thank not only their most important business partners in the flight industry for the trust they placed in our company during this century-old partnership, but also the Aviation employees for their dedication, hard work and enthusiasm. Without them, this success story would not have been possible.
