Greece Earthquake - Brewery damaged

On June 8, 2008, the earth trembled in Patras, Greece. Athenian Breweries, a subsidiary of the Heineken Group, and a client of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) is situated only 10 km away from the epicentre of the earthquake and was severely affected.

Allianz specialists on site within 48 hours

Damages to the buildings and installations occurred but luckily no employees were inured. Representatives of AGCS were on site 48 hours after the event to review the damages in collaboration with Heineken’s team.

Thanks to effective risk management and risk mitigation strategies developed by the Heineken team in conjunction with AGCS, the brewery could restart its business shortly after the incident.
