AGCS Expert Days 2011

AGCS has organized the first AGCS Expert Days on October 24 and 25, 2011 in the Charles Hotel in Munich on the topic of "Digital Environments". The event was an opportunity for the insurance industry to exchange expertise and featured presentations from different leading experts in the field of information technology risks such as Google, Siemens and Deutsche Telekom as well as from academia, politics and even included some ex-hackers.

In today’s electronically linked world where information is the most important capital, IT represents absolutely critical infrastructure. Embedded systems have become an increasingly essential part of the steering and process infrastructure, while it is becoming harder and harder to predict their robustness against physical and non-physical influences such as fire, security and fraud.

The focus of this year's Expert Days that took place on October 24 and 25, 2011 was on what kind of physical and criminal risks this infrastructure faces and the consequences clients face when their IT infrastructure fails. This can result in loss of data, business interruption and the non-availability of critical systems.

Small errors can quickly trigger a domino effect- interview with Evelyn Riger, underwriter for IT risks at AGCS

Read an interview with AGCS IT expert and risk engineer Jose Fidalgo on the topic.

AGCS invited leading researchers to speak alongside its own experts to explore these issues. More than 100 attendees very much welcomed the opportunity to exchange views on the diverse topics mentioned below.
