Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Appoints Christie as South Zone Executive, North America

New York, July 18, 2017 – Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty® (AGCS) announced today that Rani Christie has been named South Zone Executive for North America effective immediately. Christie takes over responsibility for the South from Helen Leonard, who will retire at the end of July. Christie will be based in Atlanta and report to Bill Scaldaferri, AGCS North America President & CEO.

“Rani’s extensive sales and management background will be of great benefit as we continue to strengthen and evolve our business in the South,” stated Bill Scaldaferri. “I know Rani will continue to optimize our capabilities in the South while strengthening and growing our partnerships in the market. Together, Rani and Helen will ensure a smooth transition.”

As South Zone Executive, Christie will lead and execute local business strategies, plans and initiatives, with a key focus on people and products, communication, distribution, markets and customers across all lines of business in the region. Christie joined AGCS in late 2015 as Head of Global Partnerships for North America and was later appointed Regional Head of Sales and Client Management for North America. In this new role, he will continue to serve as a key point of contact for global brokers and key clients as well as working more closely with brokers in the South Zone.

Christie is a seasoned executive offering more than 20 years of experience in a variety of industries and was formerly a managing director of Euler Hermes (EH) California, where he was responsible for operational and financial oversight of this newly-formed business unit.  Christie attended the University of Alabama and received his Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance & Investment Management.
