Testimonials

Since 2011, AGCS has been running its "Bachelor in Business Administration / Corporate Insurance" program in partnership with the Berlin School of Economics and Law.

During this program, you will study and have a contract in parallel with us, in order to gain insight on one of the top leading companies in the Corporate and International insurance business.

Read what some of our students who started in 2012 and graduated in 2015 say about the program:

1. What made you first interested in the "AGCS Eagle Graduation Program"?

My overall interest in the insurance industry came from literature. I read about its mechanisms and benefits for the economy in my first semesters when I was studying Economics. I then learned about the AGCS Eagle Graduation Program when I was searching for an integrated degree program in Business Administration and the step to apply for it was just the right decision as the combination of theory and practical experience suited me better.

2. What did you find special about the program?

For me it was somehow special to learn about the global approach of AGCS and its clients and brokers handling risks worldwide. I really liked the feeling of being part of an international company working with colleagues in multiple countries. Also changing between the Berlin School of Economics and Law and the AGCS offices in Munich and Hamburg every three months allowed me to get to know different cities and to meet new people.

3. Now that you have graduated, what is your current role & what comes next?

After graduating last year I joined the Marine Hull Team in Germany as a Junior Underwriter where I am responsible for the Yacht and Pleasure Craft portfolio. While also being involved in several projects aiming for improving our internal processes, my next step will be to apply for an extra-occupational Master of Science in Business Administration.

1. What made you first interested in the "AGCS Eagle Graduation Program"?

Already in school I was interested in Mathematics, insurance and working with an international company, so I decided to follow my interests and combine theory and practical experience. For me the AGCS Eagle Graduation Program was the perfect choice.

2. What did you find special about the program?

We had very excellent support from our colleagues and our HR department. They really cared about our needs, wishes and opinions. From my experience, this was very unique and special. HR and our colleagues respected our wishes and did a lot to accommodate them. I am glad I had this good support during my studies. Also, after finishing our BA program we still enjoy this excellent support.

3. Now that you have graduated, what is your current role & what comes next?

Now I´m a Junior Underwriter in Liability in Frankfurt. I´m supporting my colleagues with handling international liability insurance programs, portfolio treatment, tenders, renewals and daily business. The more experienced I get, the more responsibilities and own clients I get.

Next steps are continuing to gain even more expert know-how, taking more responsibility for my own clients and starting the Master’s program with AGCS.

2. What did you find special about the program?

During the three years of dual course and beside studying in Berlin, I have worked at AGCS offices in Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg. This was a great experience because I gained insights into the different parts of the business and met my colleagues in person. Beside work, I got to know the different cities in Germany much better. Of course, it was also challenging to move around a lot, but nevertheless – I don’t regret this experience at all.

3. Now that you have graduated, what is your current role & what comes next?

I am currently working in the Engineering Department in Hamburg. For me as a Junior Underwriter, it is a great opportunity, because I get to work together with a lot of very experienced Underwriters. Especially the project business in this line of business is very exciting, because there are many aspects which need to be considered.

Since I am interested in renewable energy supply, I could imagine to start my Master’s degree on this topic in the near future – alongside working on the job.
