After 18 months as CEO of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE Hong Kong, Mark Mitchell has been appointed Regional CEO for Asia.

Mark Mitchell, currently CEO of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) SE Hong Kong, will assume the role of Regional CEO Asia, taking overall responsibility for AGCS activities in Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, China and India, with effect from 1st October 2014, subject to regulatory approval.
Mark replaces Alexander Ankel who is leaving to pursue opportunities outside of the Group. A highly experienced insurance manager, Mark brings over 28 years of insurance expertise to the role, including 15 years based in Asia. Since he joined AGCS in January 2013, Mark has been a key member of the Asia management team. Under his leadership, premium income for Hong Kong and Greater China almost doubled from EUR 37million in 2011 to EUR 59 million in 2013 with the strengthening of team capabilities and broadening of distribution channels.

This appointment is timed to allow for a smooth transition between Alexander and Mark as well as to ensure continuity in service to internal staff, clients and brokers. Further details of Mark’s successor in Hong Kong will be announced in due course.
